For little or no cost to the Family Reunion or Church retreat,
consider these great locations for large group fun!

Patriot Park, located next to the Historic Old Mill, is a great example of "Less is more!" The park is a big, wide open space featuring a walk trail around the entire park, flags of all 50 states, a historic missile, a pavilion and gazebo, and The Winterfest Lights!  Also, the area of the Old Mill complex features a bakery, candy store, toy store, pottery store, several craft stores, a creamy, the Old Mill Restaurant and the Old Mill itself!  Consider old fashioned ideas like a three-legged race, a soccer game, or other fun outdoor events here.

Pigeon Forge City Park is located by the Pigeon Forge Community Center and behind the Kroger store. The Park is next to a river and is in the area of the Community Center and Library. The park features a swimming pool (at the Community Center), 2 separate playgrounds, 4 softball fields, basketball court, tennis court, soccer area, 2 pavilions, and picnic tables.  Park picnic pavilions can also be reserved through the Pigeon Forge Community Center.

Pigeon Forge Community Center
One of Pigeon Forge's Best Kept Secrets is this New Community Center located in the center of town and easily accessible from all Kimble Cabin Locations!  Open to visitors for a daily fee with childcare available. Features a gym, indoor and outdoor pools, bowling center, racquetball courts, walking track, and fitness center. Various aerobic and aqua classes available on a walk-in basis. Operates from 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.  Great public swimming pools indoor and out! Located just Off Wears Valley Road, next to the city park.  865.429-7373

Fishing
Some of the best angling in the country can be found in the Great Smoky Mountains. The wide variety of fresh mountain stream game fish makes your fishing excursion as memorable as your favorite fishing hole back home.

General License Information (Lake and Stream):
The fishing and hunting license year matches the fishing and hunting seasons.  Licenses go on sale on March 1, at the beginning of prime fishing, and will be valid until the last day of February. All licenses, except Sportsman's license, are available from most county clerks, sporting goods stores, hardware stores, boat docks and other interested merchants and from TWRA offices.

Special Permits: If your license is lost, contact the agent where purchased for duplicate license application.

Resident License: Can be purchased by those who are residents of Tennessee. Military personnel on active duty in Tennessee and their immediate families may purchase a resident license regardless of resident status. You need a license if you take fish or attempt to by any method or assist anyone in doing so.

Hiking
70 miles of the trail pass through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Whether you are an avid hiker or a beginner, the Smokies offer trails for you.

Sugarlands Visitor Center
Sugarlands Visitor Center is open year round. It is located inside the Park, two miles south of Gatlinburg on US 441. Guided programs are conducted seasonally. Please check at the visitor center and/or the web site for times and locations of these programs. The visitor center features free admission to a 20-minute film with Dolby Digital Surround Sound and extensive natural history exhibits. Available facilities include the Great Smoky Mountains Natural History Association bookstore and shop, public restrooms and telephones, soda and water machines, and a back country permit station. Your condominiums at Hghlands are in an excellent location to visit the Sugarlands Visitor Center.   Plan a picnic for the group!
